ExceleratorAI-Bot

What our website scanner is, why it visited your site, and how to allow or block it.

ExceleratorAI-Bot is the website scanner behind Excelerator AI, a tool that scores how visible a website is to AI search (ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude) and gives its owner a plain-English plan to improve.

Why it visited your site

Scans are requested by people, not run at large. If our bot fetched your pages, someone - almost always the site's owner, their marketer, or their developer - asked for an AI-visibility audit of that site. We read a limited number of pages once per scan, plus robots.txt, llms.txt, and the sitemap. We do not harvest content, collect personal data, or re-crawl on our own schedule beyond the re-scans the site's own account requests.

How it identifies itself

Every request carries this User-Agent string:

Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; ExceleratorAI-Bot/1.0; +https://exceleratorai.com/bot/)

How to verify it is really us

Every request from ExceleratorAI-Bot is cryptographically signed using Web Bot Auth (HTTP message signatures, RFC 9421, Ed25519). Each request carries Signature, Signature-Input and Signature-Agent headers, and our public key is published at:

https://app.exceleratorai.com/.well-known/http-message-signatures-directory

Firewalls and CDNs that support Web Bot Auth (including Cloudflare) can confirm a request is genuinely ours before deciding to allow it. A request claiming our user agent without a valid signature is not from us.

Crawling behavior

Low volume and polite: a handful of pages for a snapshot scan, up to 25 pages for a full-site scan, fetched one at a time with timeouts. We read robots.txt first and obey it for our own user agent: a User-agent: ExceleratorAI-Bot group with Disallow rules is honored (we stop rather than crawl), and a Crawl-delay for our agent or for * is respected. Typical load is far lighter than a single human visit with a browser.

How to allow it

If your firewall or security plugin challenges unknown visitors, allowlist the user agent string ExceleratorAI-Bot. If your site is behind Cloudflare, allowing verified bots lets ExceleratorAI-Bot through once our verification is approved; you can also allowlist the user agent string directly. Blanket bot-blocking also tends to affect AI assistants' crawlers (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, Google-Extended), which directly hurts how often AI tools mention a site - usually the opposite of what the site wants.

How to block it

We honor removal requests: block the user agent in your firewall, or contact us and we will exclude your domain from scanning.
